A Memorial service for Evelyn Myrtle Ashcraft Seem, 97, of Enid, will be at 11:00 Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating.
Evelyn was born July 10, 1915 in Sedgwick County, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Esther Ashcraft. She was a graduate of Kingman High School and received Bachelor degrees in piano and theory from Phillips University. Evelyn married Herbert A. Seem June 19, 1938 who preceded her in death March 26, 1994. Mrs. Seem was a piano teacher for 79 years. She also was a piano instructor at Phillips University from 1960 - 1980.
Survivors include a son, Herb A. Seem and his wife, Roberta of Edmond, OK; a daughter, Quinda Seem Hatfield and her husband John of Forney, TX; five grandchildren, Suzanne Seem Peterson, Melissa Seem Shelton, Patricia Seem Biggs, Cynthia Hatfield Kermes and Jeffrey Hatfield and six great-grandchildren. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Lauren (Bill) Ashcraft.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to The Evelyn Seem Scholarship Fund, a fund the Enid Music Teachers Association will award to deserving piano students.
