A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Dorothy L. Scroggins will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Enid, with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Dorothy Louise Scroggins was born June 9, 1928 in Geneva, Nebraska to James and Louise Britton. She passed from this life Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Enid.
Dorothy grew up in Billings, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school. She eventually moved to Enid where she went to work as a secretary at Enid High School for over two decades and made many lifelong friends. She also worked at Universal Custodial Service and Central Machine and Tool, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross-stitching and singing. Dorothy was a member of Sweet Adelines for several years, as well as a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir. She loved her church friends dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dave Scroggins; one son, Dana Hess and wife Cheryl of Carmichael, CA; one daughter, Tammy Lee and husband David, of Enid, OK; six grandchildren, Darin Cook, Morgan Lee and Brooke Lee, of Enid, OK; Mandy Honea of Stockbridge, GA; Bandy Melrose of Folsom, CA; Hannah Hess of Carmichael, CA; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Randy Cook.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
