A Celebration of Life Service for Darrell Scott age 85 of Enid will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Darrell was born October 29, 1929 in Marlow, OK to W. O. and Ollie Waggoner Scott and passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at his home. He grew up in the Bray community where he attended and graduated from high school in 1947. He started his career in the Ford Motor Co. in Duncan and later moved to Enid in 1948 where he worked for Parkinson-Neal Ford Dealership and later it became Day Ford. He was the parts and service manager until his retirement in 1994. Darrell married his high school sweetheart LaVern Smith on December 24, 1948.
Darrell was an avid hunter and trap shooter. He was on the National All American Trap Shooting Team five times. Darrell was certified 4H instructor in Shooting Sports. He was the Oklahoma 4 H
H Leader of the Year. He was member of the Grand National Quail Club and in the Oklahoma Trap Shooting Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Enid Elks Lodge.
Darrell is survived by his wife LaVern of the home, daughter Sandra Carson and husband Glen of Garber, grandson Scott Carson and wife Cara of Stillwater, a sister Lois Creel and husband Jerry of Duncan, a brother Jim Scott and wife Paula of Broken Arrow, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Gary Lynn, parents, and niece Janet Beckwith.
