Zelda Schultz

The funeral service for Zelda Floreine Schultz will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev John McLemore of the Central Christian Church of Enid will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery near Carrier.

Floreine was born near the community of Carrier on September 7, 1914. She graduated from Carrier High School in 1930. Upon graduating from Enid Business College in 1932 she worked for Weibel’s Dairy as a bookkeeper. She married E.C. Schultz on April 21,1935. They were married 62 years until his death in 1997. The family lived in various locations in Oklahoma including Hennessey, Woodward, Kingfisher, Wilburton and Little Axe.

Floreine was a long time employee of the Oklahoma State Parks Department and worked in Sequoyah, Thunderbird and Robbers Cave State Parks. She retired from the Parks Department in and1979, returned to Enid. Floreine was a member of Central Christian Church of Enid where she volunteered secretarial work for many years and played in their handbell choir. She enjoyed cooking for family events, making children’s clothing and quilt making.

Floreine is survived by her son, Dr. A Jay Schultz of Carthage, TX , her daughter, Lynn Roberts of Luther, Ok, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church of Enid with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
