Services for Emart J. Schuber , 98, of Enid, OK, will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 at The Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Schuber passed away August 11, 2012, at his residence.
Emart, the son of Henry and Eva Hempel Schuber, was born February 15, 1914 in Hitchcock, OK. He attended a rural school five miles northwest of Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1931. He was saved at The First Baptist Church, Belville, IL, October, 1942. Emart began farming in 1936 and farmed until July, 1942, when he entered the U.S. Army at Fort Sill, OK. He took basic training and was selected to go to radio school in Fort Scott, IL and also radar school at Boca Raton Field, FL. Upon completion of his military education he was assigned to the 397th Heavy Bombardment Squadron at Davis-Monthan Field of Tucson, AZ. He went overseas for 32 months, returning home December 8, 1945 with an honorable discharge from the Army Air Corp. as a Staff Sargent. He returned home to take up farming. Emart married Ruby D. Wasemiller in Enid, OK. July 28, 1946, and they lived on a farm near Loyal, OK until 1980. They were members of Immanuel Baptist Church being members there until moving to Enid in 1980.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Enid taking an active part in Sunday school and church. He was given the honorary title of Deacon Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Wasemiller Schuber; nephews, Jerry Wasemiller and wife Cindy of Bartlesville, OK; Neal Wasemiller and wife Kari of Edmond, OK; and niece, Pat Wasemiller Chesson of Tacoma, WA; 7 great nephews and 1 great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alma.
