Leroy Schroeder

Funeral services for LeRoy J. Schroeder will be 10 am Wednesday November 16, 2011 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

LeRoy was born July 2, 1929 in Enid to Roy and Edna Schroeder. He attended school in the Enid area graduating from Enid High.

LeRoy married Marilyn J. Phillips on April 3, 1953. They were blessed with two children James Schroeder and Karen Arnold (John) and two grandchildren Zachary and Kaitlin Bell all of Enid.

LeRoy served in the United States Army and was active duty during the Korean War. After the war he continued service in the Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) with his unit located in Stillwater, OK.

LeRoy retired from the US Postal Service with over 30 years of service as a carrier and a carrier supervisor.

LeRoy was also proud to be an active supporter as coach and umpire at PAL (Police Athletic League) Park.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the NRA.

LeRoy was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marilyn (11-9-10) and sister Doris Camire.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren and two brothers Robert (Ruby) and Henry (Ann) Schroeder; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to American Legion, Enid SPCA or Ross Hospice through Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
