Arthur Schmidt
March 14, 1923 — January 4, 2011
The funeral service for Arthur R Schmidt, age 87 will be held Saturday, January 15,
2011 at 1:30 pm at the Iglesia Bautista Emanuel Church. Rev Savlo Flores will
officiate. Burial will be in the New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery, Meno, OK.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Arthur was born March 14, 1923 in Meno, OK to Fred and Anna Buller Schmidt and
died January 4, 2011 in Enid, OK. He was raised in Meno and graduated from
Oklahoma Bible Academy. He went to Grace Bible Institute and graduated.
He married Hilda Regier in 1951. He went on to be a missionary in Ecuador for 34
years. He retired from Ecuador fields and went to the Mexican border, living in El
Paso, TX for 10 years. He moved to Golden Oaks, Enid, OK, 14 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda of the home, four sons, Mervin Schmidt and wife
Cindy of Bartlesville, OK, Fred Schmidt and wife Desireé of Ecuador, Jonathan
Schmidt and wife Karen of Peru, Ron Schmidt and wife Anne of Sand Point, ID; one
daughter, Betsy Olson and husband Norman of Chicago, IL; 16 grandchildren and
one great grandchild.
