A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilma Mae (Patocka) Scheffe will be 2:00pm, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Father Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Hennessey Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6pm-7pm at the funeral home.
Wilma was born December 22, 1932 in Hennessey to Anton and Mary (Severin) Patocka and passed away December 23, 2023. She attended Hennessey schools. Wilma worked for the Enid News and Eagle in the circulation department, where she assisted with paper carriers.
She and her husband lived on a farm in Lahoma, where they farmed acres of wheat, raised chickens, and grew a garden. Wilma loved to go to grandkids sports activities. When she retired from the News and Eagle, she and Don would take trips in the camper. They would travel with her sister, Velma across many states. Wilma was a member of St. Gregory the Great, where she was involved in the Altar Society.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald Scheffe; daughter, Phyllis Allen and husband Harold Jr. son, Mark Scheffe; grandchildren, Lisa Griffin and husband Mark, Lindsey Klemme and husband Brett, Michael Scheffe, Christopher Scheffe, Samantha Scheffe; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Klemme, Hunter Klemme, Mason Klemme, Kylee Klemme, Aiden Griffin, Alyssa Griffin, Roxanne and Forrest Russell, Daniel Scheffe, and Raeya Scheffe; sister, Virginia Markham; twin sister, Velma Ayers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vincent and Ervin, and sister, Marie Weaver.
