A Celebration of Life for Russ Rains, age 48, of Ringwood, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Brandon Brinley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, on Thursday, March 20th at the funeral home. Funeral and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Russ was born on December 10th, 1976 in Kimball, Nebraska. The son of Larry and Betty(Holland) Rains, and passed away on Monday March 17th 2025 as a result of a short battle with cancer. Russ grew up in Nebraska and Oklahoma, and finally settled in Oklahoma. Over the years Russ held various jobs from working on a drilling rig, oilfield mechanic, welding and roustabouting. Russ had a love for working on vehicles, fixing things, and helping people out. He was currently an account manager at Geo Chemicals. In his spare time Russ enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, fishing and the many adventures to the casino.
Early in life Russ had two sons, Allen “Jo” and Skylor Jacob “Jake”. On April 27th 2013, he married Lacey Nightingale in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and they made their home in Ringwood. They had two children, Wyatt Jace and Payton Elizabeth. Russ enjoyed watching and participating in his children’s various sports and activities.
Russ is survived by his wife Lacey and their two children, Wyatt and Payton, of the home. Sons’ Allen “Jo” (Angelica) of Meno, Skylor Jacob “Jake” (Jazmyne) of Ames, siblings- Vickie (Shawn) Boehs of Ringwood, Jerry (Lisa) Sandoval of Enid, Tammie (Jerry) Unruh of Ringwood, Suelynn (Leland) Webber of Ringwood. In-laws, Ralph (Donna) Nightingale and Dalton (Tricia) Nightingale. Nieces and nephews- Kassi, Val, Shay, Corina, Tori, Kaylynn, Kenni, Kaleb, Dillon, Shiann, Kyle, Watson, and Walker. As well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and other family members.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Betty Rains, brother Dennis Rains, and niece Krislynn “Sissy” Younce.
Memorial contributions in Russ name may be made to the Mercy Health Foundation c/o Colletta Cancer Center with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
