A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Helen Faye Rozzell, 78, of Enid, will be Thursday, July 2, 2015, 10:00 AM at the Carey Heights Baptist Church, 3720 SW 27th St, Oklahoma City, OK with Dr. Greg Hook officiating. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 7PM.
Helen was born June 24, 1937 in Quannah, Texas the daughter of James and Gladys Rollins Thurmond and passed away June 28, 2015 at her residence. She attended Jackson Junior High School and Capitol Hill Senior High School. Helen was united in marriage to Ronald Rozzell March 13, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK and he preceded her in death May 7, 1989. She was employed by Oklahoma City Public Schools in Food Service and served as a volunteer tutor at Franklin Pierce Elementary School. Helen was a member of the Carey Heights Baptist Church where she served as church clerk and a Sunday School Teacher. When she moved to Enid she became a member of the Garland Road Baptist Church. Her joy was caring for her family, knitting, crocheting, playing dominos and reading. She will be greatly missed at Bible Study at Burgandy Place and praying for her family and friends. Helen was an avid OU Fan and enjoyed watching their games.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Davidson and her husband Scott of Cashion, OK, Linda Sutherlin and her husband, Pat of Enid, two sons, Mike Rozzell and his wife Sherry of Piedmont, OK and Bobby Rozzell and his wife Julia Rygaard of Norman, OK, ten grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Ron, Kelsey, Holly, Lindsay, Timothy, Sunni, Jack and Ben, nine great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Betty Cowans and her husband Johnny. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, TL Thurmond.
