The funeral service for Joy L Roggow, age 73 will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Breckinridge. Pastor Arthur McCormick will officiate. Burial will be in the Breckinridge Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Joy was born November 1, 1936 in Watonga, OK to John and Jennie (Yearout) Oppel and died April 25, 2010. She graduated from Omega High School in 1954 and graduated from St John’s College in Winfield, KS in 1956 with an Associate of Arts in Education.
She married Victor Roggow on July 13, 1958 in Kingfisher, OK at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She taught at Concordia Lutheran School, San Antonio, TX, Immanuel Lutheran School, Breckinridge, and St Paul’s Lutheran School, Enid. Joy served as church secretary for 31 years at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge. She was active in LWML, LLL, Priscilla Society and AAL.
Survivors include, her husband, Victor of the home, son, Ricky Roggow of Breckinridge, OK, daughter, Vicki Pflughaupt and husband Kelby of Seward, NE; three grandchildren: Reed, Renee and Ryan Pflughaupt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elsie Ann Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour, Hospice Circle of Love or Breckinridge Lutheran Cemetery Perpetual Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
