The graveside service for Leroy Vernon Roever, age 84 will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev Carrel E Still will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Homes.
Leroy was born March 28, 1927 in Enid, OK to H.H. and Clara Eckhardt Roever and died May 14, 2011 in Wichita Falls, TX. He graduated from Enid High School and attended the Amarillo Community College.
He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the Phillipines.
On September 11, 1949 he married Rosemary Wilson in Enid, OK.
He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a licensed radio operator since 1962. He was a member of the Panhandle Amateur Radio Club and the Wichita Amateur Radio Society. He also was active in biking and repairing objects. He was a life long member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was a six gallon Red Cross Blood Donor. He was a member of Park Place Christian Church of Wichita Falls, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of the home, two sons, Neil Roever and wife Jodie of FL and Charles Roever of TX and daughter-in-law Tere Rozell of WA; foster daughter, Sharyn Russell and husband Eugene of TX; brother, Duane Roever and Wife Esther of Hennessey, OK; sister, Marian Patterson of Austin, TX; loving nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
