Roberta Rae Stubblefield was born December 5, 1932 to Bob and Maudie Tickle, in the small town of Beaver,
Oklahoma. In 1941, her parents and sister moved to Enid Oklahoma where she attended and graduated from Enid High school in 1950. During her teenage years, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Stubblefield. On July 2, 1950, they were united in marriage. From that time forward, life for Roberta and Bob were blessed in so many ways. They welcomed a son, Robert (Bob) on May 12, 1951. Enjoying life, they added another son, Steve on May 27, 1953. A few years later, they added their daughter, Janis on February 26, 1958. A family unit complete!
Roberta worked for a number of years at Marquis Studio in Enid before moving to Kremlin. After moving to Kremlin and loving the community, she went to work at Kremlin High School as a cook in the cafeteria. Roberta kept an eye on her children while working at the same time. After Bob leased Woerner Oil Company on Grand, she worked as his private secretary, keeping him on track with bookkeeping and bank deposits. They were quite the team, and were loved by many in the community of Enid. Upon Bob's job change to Champlin refinery she went back to work at Marquis Studio on North Van Buren.
Roberta's life was a true testimony of her Love of God and the love of her family. She attended Apostolic Faith Church in Enid, where she was very involved with her church and made sure her family was brought up in that same manner. She would lead the congregational singing and Praise God through her special solo's. Our little family church brought some very special people into our lives and we owe that to our mom. After Bob passed away in 2006, mom's ministry didn't stop. She would visit shut-ins or nursing homes, sharing with those who needed her. As time passed, she transitioned to Greenbrier Assisted Living and then a few months later Greenbrier Nursing home. She found several who would visit her and return the work of God to her as she did too many over the years.
