A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Reverend Arthur “Art” Michael McCormick, age 77, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Breckenridge, Oklahoma, with Pastor Travis Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The United States Army Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27th at the funeral home.

 Art was born February 25, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Owen and Marie (Mendenhall) McCormick, and passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 in Enid.

 He met the love of his life, Madeline Corey, in Westerly, Rhode Island, and they were married January 10, 1966, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ashway, Rhode Island. He joined the United States Army in August 1966, serving 22 years before retiring as a Sgt. First Class. He then went to Concordia College and Seminary where he earned his Masters Degree in Theology. He was ordained as a minister at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the summer of 1999. He served the Lord as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of Breckinridge, until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Breckinridge Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and chaplain. 

 He is preceded in death by his wife Madeline, son Joseph, and great-granddaughter, Oaklee Holderly. He is survived by three children, son Keith McCormick of Breckinridge; Gail Lucas and husband Darryl, of Breckinridge; Ryan McCormick and Jennifer Burns, of Gun Town, Mississippi; daughter-in-law, Heather McCormick, of Clarinda, Iowa; eight grandchildren; Aaron McCormick and wife Kiersten, of Seminole, OK; Alexander McCormick, of Oklahoma City; Victoria McCormick, of Oklahoma City; Sara Holderly and husband Christopher, of Enid; Hannah McCormick, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Emma McCormick, of Chicago, Illinois; Lillian McCormick, of Clarinda, Iowa; and Chase Kraft, of Texas. Four great-grandchildren also survive him, Lila, Madeline, Levi, and Christopher, Jr., as well as many friends in Christ whom he considered family.

 Memorial contributions in Art’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
