A Celebration of Life Service for Irene M. Reinhardt age 84 of Enid will be 11 am Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fairmont under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Thursday, from 5-6 pm.
Irene was born October 22, 1930 in Lahoma, OK to Ole and Mary Nolting Frey and passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. Irene was raised in the Lahoma Community graduating from Lahoma High School in 1947. She attended college in Winfield, Kansas receiving her teaching degree. She received her Master’s degree from Phillips University. She married Harry J. Reinhardt on September 6, 1953 in Lahoma and he passed away February 4, 1997.
Irene’s teaching career started in San Antonio, TX at Mt. Olive Lutheran School, coming back to Breckinridge and taught at Immanuel Lutheran School. Irene taught for 24years for Enid Public Schools at Roosevelt and Garfield Elementary as a reading specialist.
Irene was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she was a member of the LWML and the choir; she was a member of OEA, Garfield County Retired Educators, and Beta Delta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota.
Irene is survived by her daughter Diane Gordon and husband Dave of Castle, OK, son Steve Reinhardt of Highland Village, TX, two granddaughters LaChelle Speaker and Gabrielle Reinhardt, grandson Carson Reinhardt, and three great grandchildren Chase, Caydence, and Charlotte and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, a grandson Chad Gordon and a daughter-in-law Rise Reinhardt.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
