Funeral service for Thelma Lucille Powers age 92 of Enid formerly of Helena will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Central Christian Church Chapel with Rev.’s John McLemore and Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, OK. Arrangements are under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Thelma was born July 31, 1917 in Helena, OK to Goss and Eunice Davis LeCrone and passed away early Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Hospital. She attended school in Helena and graduated from High School in Wichita, KS. On July 15, 1939 she married Ward Martin Powers and he passed away in August 1988.
Thelma worked as a bookkeeper at the Farmers Coop in Helena retiring after 21 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Helena and attended the Central Christian Church.
She was active in Eastern Star and enjoyed sports and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Logan of Piedmont, son Marty and his wife Shalia of Wynnewood, grandchildren Tara and Chad Greb of Helena, Amy Logan of Oklahoma City, Shay and Tracy Powers of Lawton, Andy and Allison Logan of Piedmont, and Lance and Megan Powers of Pauls Valley, 5 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren, and the Boyd Turner family of Muncie, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Vern LeCrone, and infant grandson Shawn Powers.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church-Care Givers or Timberlake School-Athletic Dept. with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
