Shad Thomas Pletcher was born December 27, 1970 in Zanesville, Ohio to Tom and Sherri Pletcher. He passed suddenly
from this life on December 26, 2019 at home in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Shad graduated from Maysville High School in Zanesville, Ohio in 1989 before proudly serving
his country with the U.S. Army enlisting in 1989 and being honorably discharged in 1993.
On September 1, 1992, while stationed at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma he married his best friend,
traveling partner, and partner in life, Dusti Covalt of Enid, Oklahoma, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The couple made their home in Oklahoma before settling in Zanesville, Ohio for the next thirteen years
where their daughter and Shads' pride and joy, Baylee was born in 1997.
The family has lived in Oklahoma, Ohio, Kansas and most recently Texas.
Shad was a avid motorcycle rider and loved his Harley. He also enjoyed bass fishing with his
daughter, Ohio State Football and spending time in Hill country Texas, especially with the Slamm Brothers.
Shad enjoyed a long career in the solid waste industry, most recently the last
eleven years as a manager with Waste Connections in both Kansas and Texas.
Shad was a good, hard-working man who will be missed by his family, life long friends, and co-workers.
He is survived by his wife Dusti and daughter Baylee of the home, Parents Tom and Sherri Pletcher,
brothers Shilo Pletcher and his wife Randi, and brother Shea all of Roseville, Ohio.
Shad also is survived by many neices and nephews: Katlynn, Sasha, and Ashton Pletcher,
Raeder and Tristan Pletcher all of Ohio.
Brother-in-law Justin Covalt and his wife Danielle, Riley and Madison Covalt all of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Many numerous friends, extended family and co-workers.
Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home
in White Cottage, Ohio. Military honors following.
Services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Ladasau Evans Funeral Home
in Enid, Oklahoma.
Services will also be held in Lake Jackson, Texas at a future date to be determined.
