The funeral service for Evelyn Wilma Peters, age 89 will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Christopher Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Evelyn was born September 14, 1920 in Canton, KS to Otto and Amanda (Kriethe) Schlicht and died March 2, 2010. She attended school in Canton, KS and moved to Fairmont, OK in 1933.
She married Harold Peters, July 21, 1940 in Fairmont, OK. He passed away April 13, 1985.
She worked as a CNA at Integris Bass and St Mary’s Hospital. She did volunteer work for many years at Integris Bass Hospital. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and a member of the Red Hat Club at Golden Oaks. She was a quilter for Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont. She also was a winter Texan from 1980-1985.
Survivors include: her son, Lindell Peters and wife Loreta of Enid; two daughters Loretta Blodgett of Lahoma, OK and Connie House and husband Mike of Enid, OK; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Miesner of Fairmont, OK.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Eldo and sister, Fern Heim.
Memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
