A Celebration of Life for Fred Pekrul, 64, of Enid, will be Thursday, January 21, 2016, 1:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in the Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Fred was born November 27, 1951 in Enid, OK the son of Virgil and Naomi Mongold Pekrul Sr. and passed away January 16, 2016 at his residence. As a child, Fred worked in his family grocery store and meat locker business in Goltry, OK. He was a graduate of Enid High School in 1970 and then attended Phillips University as a music major. He was employed for over 35 years as a Postal Clerk for the United States Post Office in Enid. He was united in marriage to Deborah Mann in August of 1973 and to this union two children were born, Amy and Jeff. Fred was passionate about music, especially the Tri-State Music Festival and playing his trombone in many orchestras. He loved capturing memories through his videography service.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy McConnell and her husband, Trae of Piedmont, OK, a son Jeff and his wife Elizabeth of Edmond, OK, his mother, Naomi Iva Mongold Pekrul Lynch of Enid, four grandchildren, a brother, Don of Topeka, KS and a sister, Nancy Clinton of Whittier, CA. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Lee.
