A Celebration of Life for Oleta Morris Painter, age 82, of Marlow, OK., formerly of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Hayes of Wildwood Community Church in Norman, OK officiating. A private burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Oleta Painter was born November 15, 1934 to John and Carrie Walker Morris at Hope Township in Stephens County, Oklahoma. She passed away on February 20, 2017.
Oleta grew up in the Doyle, Oklahoma area and on May 20, 1950 married Clarence E. Painter and moved to Enid. Oleta had been a long-time member of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan during part of her five-plus decades of residing in Enid. Her church involvement included taking care of children in the nursery. Oleta dedicated several years to working as a contract employee cleaning base housing at Vance Air Force Base. In recent years, she had lived in Marlow.
Oleta was preceded in death by: Husband Clarence, her parents John and Carrie Morris, brothers J.C. Morris, Les Morris, Troy Morris, Jerome Morris, Johnny Morris and sisters Juanita Holt and Maggie Roberts; and sons-in-law Jerry Rice and John Baldwin.
Oleta is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Rice, Ozark, Ark.; Pam Baldwin, Enid, one son Bryan Painter and wife Teri, Edmond; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Oleta’s name may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
