Memorial services for Thomas Ross Owens, 71, of Enid, will be Friday, May 24, 2013, 11:00 AM at The Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Kevin Strope officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Thomas was born March 17, 1942 in Muldrow, OK the son of James and Nezzie Carter Owens and died May 18, 2013 in Enid, OK. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as an orthopedic specialist with two tours of duty in Vietnam. After his retirement from the military, he was employed by Northwest Orthopedics until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the VFW. Thomas enjoyed basketball and football and spending time at the casinos. He volunteered for many years for the Enid Head Start program. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Owens Jr. and his wife Sara of Enid, three daughters, Carole Ford of Red Bluff, CA, Kristi Patricio of Sonora, CA and Irene Owens of Shawnee, OK, seven grandchildren, and his siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.
