Major David G. O'Neal (Ret), 69, passed away on Wednesday, March 26 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.
David served in the Army from 1965 to 1975 during which time he completed a tour in Vietnam as a
Helicopter Pilot. While stationed at Ft. Sill, he married the love of his life, Lynda. He joined the
Oklahoma National Guard in 1975 and served as Training Officer for the 45th FA Brigade, Enid, OK. He retired
in 1989 and began a career as a federal employee with Services at Vance Air Force Base and retired in 2004.
David loved spending time with his family and beloved dogs; Sandy, Mandy and Brandi. He was involved in the community as Scout Master of First United Methodist Church Troop 11, member of the Masonic Enid Lodge 80 and Eastern Star Chapter 36, Director Staff for Akdar Shrine in Enid and member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda; daughter, Deborah (Jim) Byrne of South Dakota; son, Maj Kenneth (Belinda) O'Neal
of Virginia, step-grandsons, Devin and Kindal; step-mother, Geneva Lynch and Great Aunt Sue and nephew Tommy, Lawton, OK.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home at 3:00 pm with
Reverend Norris Williams officiating. Burial will be held with military honors at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Troop 11, First United Methodist Church
or Disabled American Veterans with Ladasau-Evans Funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
