Evelyn Mae Glover Ohls was born April 3, 1930 in Allen, OK and departed for glory from Enid, OK on November 17, 2018 surrounded by family. Evelyn was the first of four children born to William Lavader Glover and Maggie Elizabeth Brown Glover. She graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1947. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Sasakwa where she was one day seen selecting and leading songs by the young man who would become her husband.
She married Everett Ohls on August 7, 1948 beginning a life journey that would last over 70 years. Everett and Evelyn lived in Oklahoma City after their marriage, moved to Del City in 1950 where all four of their children were born, and then moved to Enid in 1964. In 1965 Evelyn began teaching a women’s Sunday school class; she taught them for over four decades.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Cloyce Glover and her sister Kathryn Pierce.
She is survived by her husband Everett Ohls of the home; brother Kenneth (Carole) Glover of Choctaw OK; daughters Jan Campbell (Larry) of Oskaloosa KS and Sandy Wallace (Ed) of Broken Arrow OK; sons Gene Ohls (Sandy) of Enid OK and Tim (Kim) of Wichita KS.
She was also blessed with nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Services will be November 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 831 East Broadway, Enid OK with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Enid with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
