Raymond Nobis

Funeral services for Raymond Nobis age 84 of Waukomis will be 9 am Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born September 12, 1927 in Fairmont to Henry and Carolena Wyssmann Nobis and passed away in Hillcrest Hospital Tulsa on July 16, 2012 after a short illness. He was raised in the Fairmont area where he attended grade school and graduated from Garber High School.

Ray entered the U. S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged. Ray married Eula Mae Shriver on October 28, 1950 in Fairmont. She passed away December 1, 2008.

Ray worked as an appliance repairman, worked for Industrial Iron Works for several years and AT&T Industrial Supply. He later started Ray Nobis Industrial Supply until he sold the business in 1994. He worked for Wheat Heart Nutritional Center. Ray started to work in 2004 as a driver for the Enid Transfer for the past 8 years.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont. He was a member of Enid Sunrise Lions Club.

Ray is survived by his daughter Debbie Nobis of Waukomis, granddaughter Brandi and husband Robert Robertson of Broken Arrow, great grandchildren Alex, Emmaleen, and Nicholas Robertson, a brother Donald Nobis of Enid, a sister Arlene ZumMallen of Okarche, OK and a host of other family members.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Oxford and brothers, Elmer, Marvin, Harold, Leonard, and Roland,

sisters, Esther Loesch and Berniece Fischaber.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Heart or Breast Cancer Divisions with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
