A Celebration of life for Roy Nimmo, 75, of Lahoma, will be 2:00p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Roy Eugene “Gene” Nimmo passed into Our Father’s arms on September 25, 2019. Gene was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Roy and Emma Nimmo on March 31st, 1944.
Gene served in the U.S. Army with distinction and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1972. After his discharge, Gene attended Northern Oklahoma College and received an associate’s degree in nursing. He specialized in psychiatric nursing, and he served the youth of Northwest Oklahoma at the Enid State School and at Meadowlake Behavioral Health Center until his retirement. Gene loved watching OU football, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Most of all, Gene loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his brother, Wayne; his daughters, Deanna, Tiffany, and Taichá; his grandchildren, Keshawn, Addalie, Isaiah, Elijah, Samuel, a baby girl to be born; one great-grandchild.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved son, Donovan, and his brother, Vernon.
