Jay Morrison

February 6, 1925 — June 4, 2011

The funeral service for Jay W Morrison, 86 will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Carl Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jay walked into heaven to be with his wife, Helen and his Lord, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Jay was born February 6, 1925 in Tonkawa, OK and moved to Enid when he was 6 years old.

He married Helen Sidwell on December 21, 1946. In April 1960 he opened Morrisons Floor Covering, retiring in December 2003 after 43 years in business. Jay loved life and he never met a stranger. He also knew all the great bar-b-que restaurants across the United States.

Helen, his wife of 59 years, along with his parents and two brothers and sister preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Dennis and wife Susan Morrison of North Canton, OH, and Craig Morrison of Enid, OK, daughters, Donna Kay and husband Dennis Baker of McKinney, TX and Janet and husband Dan Pigman of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brother, Harold Morrison and sister-in-laws, Nancy Morrison and Peggy Sidwell and numerous nieces and nephews. Jay is also survived by his special friend, Verna Regier.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Jay’s caregiver of 5 years, Helen Davis for her excellent care and loving friendship.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made in his name to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Stem Cell Research. Condolences may be sent to www.ladusauevans.com.
