A Mass of Christian Burial for Louise Montgomery age 94 of Enid will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 29 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Father John Herrera officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday.
Louise was born January 17, 1928 on the farm south of Enid, OK to Henry and Rose (Descher) Apel and passed away November 19, 2022 at her daughter’s home. She attended the old farm school and then transferred to St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated in 1946.
Louise married Casier H. “Cass” Montgomery on June 11, 1949 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and he passed away September 2, 2009. She was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church since 1971. She was a member of the American Legion, Corp Mother Enid Legionettes for 7 years, and Epsilon Alpha Sigma for 23 years. She worked for Huffman Floral for over 40 years.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Janette and husband John Robino, daughter, Patty Montgomery, and Melody Scherich, Enid. Granddaughter Lindsey and husband Tim Swart II, grandson Zach Robino and wife Nicole, and grandson, CJ Robino, Great grandchildren Brayson Gregg and fiancé Syrin Lunceford, and Haven Swart, and sisters, Betty Miller, Bernice Pierce and Sue Ellen Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rosie Larue, Marlene Kokojan, and Dora Meloy, and several other family members.
Memorials may be made to Our Daily Bread and St. Jude Children’s Hospital with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as the custodians of the funds.
