Nelda Mongold

Graveside services for Nelda Jo Mongold, age 91, of Enid, will be at 10:00am, Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the Mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Nelda was born March 31, 1933, in Purcell, Oklahoma to H.J. and Minnie Champion, and passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She married the love of her life, Bernard “Bud” Mongold, on November 6, 1959, and they made their home in Enid.

Nelda dedicated her life to taking care of her family and close friends, in every way she could. She made many personal sacrifices of time and needs to put the needs of others first. She loved to cook, do crafts, and to go camping and fishing. Nelda was a life-long member of Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Lloyd Mongold and wife Barbara, of Enid; David Mongold, also of Enid; six grandchildren, Shaun Gregory Miller, Wesley Gene Mongold, Heidi DeAnn Scott; Lindsey Ann Mongold, Christopher Lee Mongold and Jason Robert Mongold; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud Mongold; sister, Jean Kelly, an aunt, Bessie Edwards; and her beloved dog and companion, Bella.

Memorial donations in Nelda’s name may be made to Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
