The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 7th. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Zayden was born May 10, 2016 to Sean and Sara (Sampson) Moerer in Enid, and passed away Monday, April 3, 2023.
Zayden was born with a rare brain disorder, called Galloway-Mowat Syndrome. Due to his disorder, he was non-verbal and required a wheelchair. Zayden went by ‘Bubs” or “Bubba”, to those closest to him. He was continually in and out of OU Children’s Hospital, where he was loved and admired by many Doctor’s, nurses, and all the staff. He loved spending time with his family, especially his little sister.
Zayden began attending Hoover Elementary when he was three years old, and got to ride the bus on the days he was able to attend school. He most enjoyed his “Spa Days’ with Mrs. Amanda, and he knew his school routine to a “T”, and when he wasn’t able to ride the bus, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you about it.
Aside from school, he was also involved in Miracle League Baseball, where he played for the Royals. His favorite part was being lead around the bases by the volunteers. Zayden was a big Batman fan, from his black and yellow walls in his bedroom, his figurines on his shelf, his Batman pictures, down to his Batman themed wheelchair. He was one of a kind and will forever live in the hearts of everyone he met.
Zayden is survived by his parents, Sean and Sara (Sampson) Moerer; sister, Brynleigh Moerer; paternal grandparents, Keith and DeeDee Brown; maternal grandparents, Curtis and Tricia Sampson; paternal great-grandparents, Richard and Jackie Moerer; maternal great-grandfather, Tom Willson; paternal uncle Anthony Adams; and maternal aunt, Samantha James and husband Jay, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and other family.
Zayden is preceded in death by his sister, Zoey Moerer; maternal great-grandmother, Ellen Willson; maternal great-grandparents, Gordon and Ilene Sampson; and paternal grandfather, Tim Adams.
The family requests memorials in Zayden’s name be made toward funeral expenses with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
