A Celebration of Life for Myrna (Lewis) Miller, age 83 years, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Monday, October 29, 2018 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, October 28th at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Myrna was born July 30, 1935 in Enid, to Fred and Mae (Welty) Lewis, and passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Garland Road Nursing Home, in Enid.
Myrna attended Garfield Elementary, Longfellow Junior High, and Enid High School graduating in 1953. She married Robert “Bob” E. Miller on June 15, 1956 in Enid. She attended Beeches Beauty College, and then owned and operated Myrna’s Beauty Salon for many years until her retirement. She was also a member of the Lydia Ladies Community Group of Emmanuel Enid (formerly Emmanuel Baptist Church) for forty years. Myrna enjoyed gardening, especially roses, pansies, and peonies. She loved to bake and would often bake her famous Angel Food and Chocolate Sheet Cake to deliver to Greenbriar Nursing Home and other friends. She enjoyed sewing; making costumes, school clothes and vacation outfits for her girls. She and Bob would take time out once a year to travel with the girls. Myrna blessed friends and family with a thoughtful card for just about any occasion. She adored her fur-babies, the Westies, Molly, Sophie and Katy.
Myrna is survived by four daughters LaRee Pitman and husband James, of Muskogee, OK; Lanette Hendon and husband Kent, of Broken Bow, OK; Robin Miller, of Enid; Nancy Walker and husband Lane, of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren, J.R and Lori Pitman, of Tulsa; Jennifer and Shari McCalip, of Moore; Daliene Hendon of San Antonio; Trey Hendon of Langston; Jessi Sanchez of Enid; and Jason Sanchez of Waukomis; and several great-grandchildren.
Myrna was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. Her beautiful smile and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mae Lewis, husband Robert E. Miller; and brother, Duane Lewis.
Memorials in Myrna’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Forgotten Ministries c/o Emmanuel Enid with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
