A Celebration of Life Service for Billie E. Mickle age 93, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 614 N Garland, Enid, OK, with Rev. Emily Robnett officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 10:00 am Saturday at New Hope United Methodist Church.
Billie was born July 8, 1924 to Admiral and Stella (Blake) Speights and passed away early Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Greenbrier Nursing Home. She grew up in the Red Oak, OK community and graduated from LeFlore High School. Billie attended Eastern State College and later graduated from Southeastern State University. She taught at Lacy and retired from Hennessey Public Schools. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at both St Mary’s and Integris Bass Baptist Hospitals and RSVP.
Billie is survived by her daughter Liz Price and husband Kim of Enid, stepsons Billy Mickle and wife Fran of Durant, and Mike Mickle and wife Karen of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Wendi Price of Washington, DC, , Brett Price and wife Laura of Stillwater, Matt Mickle and wife Raye of Durant, Kyle, Kate, and Matt Mickle of IA; great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Collier, Malone, and Wade; sister, Ruth Hampton of Dallas, and numerous other family members.
Billie was preceded in death by her daughter Frances Dailey, step son Terry Mickle, brother, Richard Speights, and sister, Frieda Herdt.
Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
The family would like to thank the staff at Greenbrier Nursing Home and Ross Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Billie.
