Obera Meyer

February 12, 1929 — December 2, 2011

Celebration of Life for Obera Fae Meyer will be 2:00pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Willow View United Methodist Church. Rev. Lesly Broadbent will officiate. Burial will be at 11:30am in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Obera was born February 12, 1929 in Meno, OK to Elva See and Jake Koehn and died December 2, 2011 in Enid. She graduated from Carrier High School in 1947. She married Curtis John Meyer on May 10, 1947 in Wellington, KS and they had four children. She worked for Vance Air Force Base for 30 years.

She was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church Builders Class, OWLS Seniors and FAITH WOMENS CIRCLE.

Obera loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. She and Curtis were also avid fans of many Enid and surrounding area sports teams. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and baking for the family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis of the home; one son, Terry Meyer and his wife Sara of Phoenix, AZ; three daughters, Pam Lumen of Edmond, OK, Kristi Kretchmar and husband Doug of Harrah, OK, and Brenda Morgensen and husband Randy of Edmond, OK; 10 Grandchildren, Kirsten (Jay) Campbell, Jason (Kelli) Meyer, David (Leanne) Meyer, Brianna (Dustin) Davison, Quinn (Amanda) Lumen, Jay (Rachael) Kretchmar, Taylor Kretchmar, Andrew Morgensen, Chris Morgensen, and Alana Morgensen; Seven Great-Grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Ashlyn, Carson, Jordan, Brecklyn and Kylie; three sisters, Elvera Allen, Belva Yoder and Jolene Custer; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Melvin Koehn and sister Bertie Means.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Jay Knapik, Dr. Richard Rivers, and Nurses Willie and Kim of St. Mary’s ICU for their care and support of our mother.

Memorials may be made to Willow View United Methodist Church or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be sent to www.ladusauevans.com.
