A celebration of the life of Elizabeth Jane Mercer will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Central Christian Church in Enid. Reverend Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Jane died peacefully Wednesday, February 25, with family by her side.
Jane was born to the late William Byron and Elsie Vivian (Hotson) Rosenbaum, February 6, 1928, in Columbus, Kansas and grew up on a farm near Covington, OK. She graduated from Covington High School and attended Phillips University. Jane worked as a secretary, accountant, and lumber yard business manager, and was an active member of Central Christian Church.
Jane married the late Levi Emery Mercer in 1947, and they lived together in Enid until his death in 1983. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two infant grandchildren.
Jane is survived and will be greatly missed by her three sons ; Kelven Mercer, of Enid; Linden Mercer and wife Tonya, of Columbia, MD; and Krag Mercer of The Colony, TX; grandchildren, Tina Lunday, Shawn Mercer, and Max Mercer, of Enid; Jared Mercer, Kara Mercer, and Cameron Mercer of Columbia, MD as well as four great-grandchildren. Jane is also survived by her sister Margret Fetters, of Watonga; as well as nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or the charity of your choice. Ladusau-Evans will serve as custodian of the funds.
