A Mass of Christian Burial for Martha A. (Hladik) Melton Yeatman, age 81, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mark Mason serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery. A Rosary will be on Wednesday, November 11th at 7:30 pm at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Martha was the first of eight children, born Monday, October 30, 1939 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to Joseph C. Hladik, Sr. and Clara Emma Houska, and passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Lacy High School, Lacy, Oklahoma in 1957. She worked at Dinkler Drug Store in Hennessey until marrying Jerry Robert Melton on July 1, 1964. They made their home and started their family in Hennessey, then moved to Edmond while Jerry finished earning a teaching degree from Central State College. They moved to Chickasha where Jerry began his teaching career, later moving to Enid where they made their permanent home. After Jerry’s retirement, Martha took a job at Kmart Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician until her retirement in 2015. After Jerry passed away in 2004, she married Albert Luther Yeatman on October 27, 2007, and he passed away in 2009. She was a devout member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara Hladik; husband Jerry Melton; husband Luther Yeatman; brother, William Hladik; brothers-in-law George Melton, Sam Melton, Gerry Melton; Norman Reeves; and Ray White. She is survived by three children, Michael Melton, of Enid; Mark Melton and wife Kati, of Marlow, OK; Merla Ritchie of Enid; six grandchildren, Clarissa Ritchie and Michael Gonzalez, of Enid; Kerryn Melton, of Marlow; Keaton Ritchie and wife Chelsea, of Edmond; Clay Ritchie, of Enid; Ashley Ritchie of Enid; Brady Melton of Marlow, Ok; ten great-grandchildren; six siblings, Margaret Reeves, of Carlinville, IL; Marcella Opfer (Dave) of Taylors, SC; Clarance Hladik (Cathie) of Piedmont, OK; Wenceslaus Hladik, (Sherri) of Hennessey; Marie White of Ft. Smith, AR; Joseph Hladik (Charlotte) of Ames, OK; sister-in-law, Veronica Melton, of Okeene, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Memorial contributions in Martha’s name may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Diabetes Research with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
