The funeral service for Lucille A Melott, age 88, will be held 10:00am Friday, September 30, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church. Rev Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lucille was born November 11, 1922 on a farm west of Pond Creek, OK to Louis Graham and Agnes Hopping and died September 26, 2011 in Enid, OK. She attended Coldwater grade school and graduated from Pond Creek High School in 1941 as Valedictorian.
She married George W Melott on October 6, 1942 at the First United Methodist Church of Pond Creek, OK by Rev R.W. Graham.
She worked at Greenbrier Nursing Home for 25 years as a kitchen aide retiring in 1989. She was home room mother at Garfield School, Cub Scout Den Mother; taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church of Pond Creek and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Enid since 1949. She was a life member of the 96th Infantry Army Women’s Auxiliary Association and life member of Disabled American Veteran Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivor include her husband, George of the home, three sons, Larry Melott and wife Patty, Jerry Melott and Dale Melott all of Enid, OK; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
