The graveside service for Irene G McDonald will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10 am at the Calvary Cemetery, Enid, OK. Rev Jim Edmison will officiate. The family will meet at 9:00 am at the funeral home, Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born in Tahlequah, OK and celebrated her birth on June 2nd and passed away August 21, 2011 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She lived in Vernon, TX, Tahlequah and Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1943.
She married L. Edward McDonald, January 10, 1948 in Enid, OK. He passed away November 15, 1980. They met in Minneapolis, MN and lived there for a short time after their marriage.
She was a bookkeeper for several car dealerships, beginning with Edward’s Oldsmobile and retiring in 2003 with Curttright Honda. During WWII she worked at a ship factory in Oregon.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie McDonald of Enid, OK and son, Mark McDonald and wife Jeanette of Enid, OK; two grandchildren, Rikki Guinn and husband Justin of Chandler, OK and Ryan McDonald of Oklahoma City, OK; one great granddaughter, Breanna Guinn; and sister, Joyce Roach and husband Pat of Andover, KS.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Monahan, brother, Eugene Wood, and mother, Pearl Wood.
