A Celebration of Life for Mary Ellen Mathers, 100 years, of Tulsa, formerly of Enid, is 10:00 am, Monday, July 29, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Mary was born December 26, 1918 in Watertown, New York to Louis and Ellen (Hudson) Galleciez and passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She married Clay Mathers November 9, 1938 in Hutchinson, Kansas and celebrated 73 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. She worked for the Garfield County Court Clerk’s office for 16 years. She was a long time member of West Side Baptist Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and husband Clay Mathers, one sister and three brothers. She is survived by five children, Linda Shipley and husband Mel, of Enid; Mary Ann Tuttle and husband Richard, of Richmond, KY; Sharon Ross and husband Dale, of Dacoma; Dr. Mark Mathers and wife Calli, of Tulsa; and Diana Studebaker, of Denver, CO. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to West Side Baptist Church Missions Fund or to the donor’s choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
