A Celebration of Life Service for Martin W. Nobis age 90 of Enid will be 10:00 am Friday, October 22, 2024, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwayne Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fairmont under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Martin was born June 17,1934 in Marshall, OK to William J. and Elva (Radke) Nobis and passed away October 17, 2024, in St. Mary's Hospital. He attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1952. He attended Enid Business College from 1954-1956. Martin joined the U. S. Army on August 2, 1956, and was honorably discharged on August 1, 1958. He worked as an accountant most of his career for George E. Failing (GEFCO) and STECO retiring in 1996. Martin was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member, organist and treasurer for many years. Martin and Marilyn Meek were married on August 21, 1955, in Enid. They enjoyed square dancing, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, Loaves and Fishes, and going on cruises. Martin loved to stay busy with his gardening, painting, playing the piano and his woodworking.
Martin is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters, Denise (Rick) Morris and Debra Rudolph, son Darrin Nobis and husband Bryan Barnett, grandchildren; Robin Morris, Erin (David) Moss, Justin Rudolph, Brittany Rudolph, step-grandchildren Sydni (Logan) Brooks, Samantha (Julian) Aguilar, great grandchildren; Cooper and Ryder Moss, and Enzo Aguilar, brother Melvin (Evelyn) Nobis, sister Marie (Tim) Hutcheson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Marvin Nobis.
Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church building fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
