Graveside services for Vernon Dean Marquardt, 78, of Enid, will be Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Services under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. ``````
He was born Jan 1, 1934 at the family farm north of Lahoma, OK, the son of Paul and Mabel Vette Marquardt and passed away Sept. 24, 2012. He was a graduate of Carrier High School in 1951 where he played basketball and baseball and was a member of FFA. Vernon was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Barbara Moehle August 9, 1959 in Carrier, OK. He was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, KS and most recently was employed by Hackney Inc in Enid retiring after 28 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Barbara, one son, Wade Marquardt and his wife Michele of Wichita, KS, two grandchildren, Claire and Keira, aunt, Bernice Buckminster of Norman, OK and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joan Thomas.
