A Celebration of Life for Erma Laverne Marney, age 96 years, of Enid, is 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at United Puritan Church of Christ withRev. Matt Perkins offiating and Pastor Gordon Epps co-officiating. Burial will follow in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond, Ok. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Erma was born August 29, 1920 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to Joseph and Mabel (Hannon) Hager, and passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Enid.
She was a dedicated farmers wife, mother and housewife. She helped Kenneth with the farm work, driving the tractor, milking the cows, and anything that she needed to do to help, as well as raising four children. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Erma was a member of Barr’s Busy Bee’s and taught the adult Sunday school class at what was then the Puritan Congregational Church in Drummond. After Kenneth’s retirement, they loved to travel and spent winters in Port Isabel, Texas. She loved to read, loved growing beautiful flowers, and especially balloons.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel, her husband Kenneth Marney; son Danny Joe Marney; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three children; Gary Marney and wife Lora, of Dumas, TX; Kenny Marney and wife Kathy, of Enid; Nikki Marney of Enid; two brothers, Jerry John Hager and wife Marsha, of Enid; Mike Hager and wife Donna, of Enid; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Memorials in Erma’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
