A funeral mass for Christian burial for Anastasia "Ann" Markowicz will be held
at 12 P.M. Monday, April 7th, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 6 P.M. at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with visitation to follow.
Ann was born October 21, 1924 in Stanislav, Poland and died April 1, 2014 at
the age of 89. She survived the concentration camps of Auschwitz, Treblinka and Minsk during the Holocaust. She then married Francis Markowicz and immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island. Ann became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1956. She worked in St. Mary's Hospital dietary department for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Frank Michael
Markowicz. Ann is survived by her daughter, Janice Markowicz, of Enid.
