Funeral services for James (Jim) R. Maloy age 81 of Enid will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the First Missionary Baptist Church with Superintendent’s Robert Robinson and Derwin Norwood officiating. Burial will be 10:00 aM. Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
James was born December 10. 1931 in Cheyenne, OK to Beatrice Maloy Smith and he passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. He moved to Enid at an early age. He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1951. He entered the U. S. Air Force July 10, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge on July 9, 1955.
James operated his own salvage yards in Kansas City, MO. He also was a mechanic and truck driver for years.
He was a member of First Church of God in Christ. He was a very lovable people person. Everyone enjoyed his practical jokes and his sense of humor.
He married Clarene Perry on May 19, 2011 in Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife Clarene of the home, several children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Frank Smith of Omaha, NE, Jerry Smith of Providence, RI and Donnie Smith of Los Angeles, CA, 4 sisters; Melvia Jean (Neil) Sanders of Las Vegas, NV, Katherine Santos of Sacramento, CA, Thelma Smith of Richmond, CA and Elweeta Kendrick of Tulsa, OK.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and 7 brothers and sisters and children.
