A celebration of Life Service for Joseph “Joe” Makosey age 88 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Randy Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Joe was born December 21, 1926, in Whitsett, PA to John and Mary Tolesko Makosey and passed away March 14, 2015, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He was raised in Pennsylvania. Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II.
He married Eva Schultz on May 27, 1946, in Enid and she passed away April 16, 2005. Joe worked as a mechanic for the Nash Dealership, he owned and operated Joe’s Auto Repair from 1953-1977, later working for Superior Station and Enid News and Eagle delivering newspapers to all the small towns surrounding Enid until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Joe was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing and teaching people how to play.
Joe is survived by his sons, Bob Makosey of Enid and Bill Makosey of Lansing, Michigan, one brother Jim Makosey of Irwin, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Memorials may be made to OMRF-Cancer Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
