Funeral services for Anita Gwendolyn “Gwen” Long age 88 of Wichita, KS will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Square Cedar Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born February 24, 1924 in Jet, OK to John and Bessie Brown Oakley and passed away Wednesday, September, 26, 2012 in Wichita, KS. She was raised in the Jet community where she attended and graduated from Jet High School.
Gwen married Albert Long on December 1, 1946 and he passed away August 7, 2012. She moved to Wichita in 1949. She worked a short period for Boeing Aircraft. She was a stay at home mom, where she raised her three sons.
Gwen is survived by her sons; Darrel and wife Marilynn Long, Terry and wife Judy Long both of Wichita, and Kevin Long of Everett, Washington, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, a sister Betty Snook of Atlanta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.
