James Litton

James Frederick Litton, II passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. He was 62 years of age.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the North Fork Baptist Church in Paonia, Colorado with Pastor John Robbins, officiating.

James was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 9, 1947 to the late James Frederick and Betty Ruth (McDonald) Litton. He grew up at the Cal Farley’s Boy Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, then graduated from Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma.

James married Linda Gail Smith on August 28, 1970 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was an Operations Manager for energy exploration. He also served in the United States Navy from 1965 until 1967. The Litton’s have been residents of Crawford, Colorado for 25 years. He was a member of the North Fork Baptist Church in Paonia, Colorado and Odd Fellows Lodge. James loved reading, yard work, flowers, hunting, fishing and watching and feeding hummingbirds. He enjoyed playing pool with Ron and Doug Smith. Most of all, James loved tickling his grandchildren, whom were the pride of his life, with his whiskers.

James is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; two daughters: Cassandra Rhea Litton and her children, Triniti Jade and Todd Joseph Hutchison, II of Aurora, Colorado; and Autumn Dawn Freeman and children, Skylar Elizabeth and Claire Alyse of Springfield, Missouri; brother, Hank Litton of Moore, Oklahoma; twin sister Freda Smith of Warsaw, Missouri, sisters, Trudy Freeman of Pehil, Arkansas and Rosemary Larsen South Jordan, Utah, and aunt, Mary McNett.

James was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in James’s memory to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-000.

Graveside services for James Litton will be held Friday, 2:00 pm at the Enid Cemetery. Rev Gary Smith will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family, Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
