The funeral service for Homer W Lewis, age 82 will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Drummond Community Baptist Church. Rev Danny Marney will officiate. Burial will be in the Garrison Cemetery near Dacoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Homer was born February 11, 1927 in Bessie, OK to Harry H and L May (Etherton) Lewis and died January 8, 2010 at his home.
He joined the U S Army and when he came back from serving, he started dating Twila J Myers. They were married July 2, 1949 at her parents home in Enid, OK. They moved to Lakewood, CA where he worked for Aero Dynamics. They returned to Enid in 1970 and he worked for the Enid school system as a carpenter, retiring in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Twila of the home, two sons: Michael Lewis and wife Loretta of Colorado Springs, CO; Russell Lewis and wife Janie of Enid, OK; one daughter, Tammy Johnson and husband, Clifford of Drummond, OK; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Gordon Lewis and sister, Ruby Jean Wyerts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers: Roy Samuel, Vernon Charles, Walter Ray and Harry Lee; and sister, Velda Pearl.
