Dawn Michelle “Shelly” Hocking (Hatley) 52, passed away on October 11th, 2021, in Enid Ok. She was born on December 16th, 1968, to Gerald and Diane Hatley. She came home on Christmas Eve to join her siblings - Will, Sterling, Susie and James. Oh, What a gift.
Shelly graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1986. She continued her education in mental health and substance abuse; earning her masters from Oklahoma State University in 2012. She was reunited with the love of her life, Jeff Lewis in 2017. They were married on September 20th, 2018. Shelly had a passion for others and spent many hours covering them in prayer. She had a personal interest in prison ministry and advocated for it routinely. She recently was pivotal in ana local school anti-bullying campaign, Care 2 Be Kind, and helped establish an annual walk. Shelly loved the kids she handled and worked tirelessly for them and their families. She Often followed up with them on her own time. Her coworkers were a true blessing to her and she loved them deeply. Above all her love for others were her love for God and her boys. They were the light of her life. She grew up listening to music if the 80’s and transitioned her love of music to Christian contemporary and she loved a good concert.
Shelly is survived by her husband Jeff Lewis, three sons: Ryan, Stephan and Damen. Her mother Diane Nunley, her older brother, Will Hatley and wife Robin; her older sister, Susie Hatley, and her longtime Dachshund canine companion, “Baby Girl.” Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Hatley, her two older brothers
Sterling Hatley and James Hatley.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, October 17, 2021 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Enid, Oklahoma. Burial will be 1:00 pm, Monday at the Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
