A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Nadine Lenox, 92, of Enid, will be Thursday, December 11, 2014, 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Burlelson officiating. A private graveside service was held earlier in the day.
Nadine was born August 23, 1922 in Manchester, OK, the daughter of Will and Hazel Hess Blecha. She attended Manchester schools graduating with the class of 1940.
In 1941 she married Sgt. John Hatfield from Sand Creek, OK but was stationed with the United States Air Force in Denver, CO. During the war from 1943-1945, Nadine worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS. He job involved building of the B29 airplanes as one of the “Rosie the Riveters”. The Hatfield family was blessed with five children: Jack, Shari, Janice, Jonette and Jerry.
In 1972, Nadine married Felix Lenox after a 17 year courtship and gained another son Felix Lenox Jr. They owned and operated the “Lenox Drive Inn” on North Grand for 39 years. After his death in 2003, Nadine traveled frequently to Las Vegas, one of her favorite places.
She and Felix adopted Emmanuel Baptist Church as their church home and continued to attend regularly until health issues prevented her from attending. She is survived by Jack Hatfield of Perkins, OK, Shari Stanalonis of Prescott, AZ, Janice Hatfield of Henderson, NV, Jonette Hatfield of Perkins, OK, Jerry Hatfield and wife Donna of Norman, OK and Felix Lenox Jr. of Henderson, NV., six granddaughters, three great grandsons and two great-great grandsons with another due this month, a brother, Merle Blecha of Miami, FL and a sister-in-law Virginia “Babe” Seeley of Enid and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a sister, Norma German, a brother, John Blecha and a daughter-in-law Jennifer Hatfield.
