Funeral services for Karen League will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Follett, Texas. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Karen was born September 16, 1942 in Follett, Texas to Virgil and Florence (Roots) Gillespie, and passed away February 4, 2023. She graduated from Follett High School class of 1960. She married Jerry League in 1961 in Follett Methodist Church. Karen moved to Enid in 1976. She worked as an Insurance Agent for Messer-Bowers Insurance until her retirement. Her greatest love was her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her 20s, Karen became a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She served for over 60 years, working her way through all degrees and finishing as a Delta Master. Along the way, she served on many committees and held most offices. She also served as Co-Chair of the State Convention and was honored as Valentine Queen. Her accomplishments and lifelong friendships she made brought her much joy and pride. She loved being Delta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, word search puzzles, reading recipes and working outside in her flower beds. Karen also enjoyed drinking her coffee and reading the newspaper in the morning.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Jody Martin and husband, Chris, Nan Rogers and husband Jeff, Tina League and Billie Neathery; grandchildren, Chasady Booze, Jamie Booze, April Pryor, Jordan Rogers, Jared Rogers, Cassidy Rogers, Courtney Rogers, Curtis League, Josh Fulgium, Ty Neathery, Shae Koehn; great grandchildren, Kemaj Booze, Crystal Pippens, Mariah Pryor, Makenna Pryor, Lyla Rogers, Roman Koehn, John Luke Rogers, Colbie Fulgium; siblings, Sylvan Gillespie, Beverly Schneider, Jordy Ray Gillespie; nieces, nephews and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry League.
Memorial donations may be made to funeral expenses with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
