Paul “Gil” Kirkland, Jr, age 63 of Garber, OK passed away Tuesday evening, September 13, 2011 in Northwest Specialty Hospital after a period of ill health. He was born April 13, 1948 in Louisville, KY to Paul G Kirkland, Sr and Virginia E Reed. A celebration of his life will be at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Paul served the US Coast Guard. He came to Enid in the early 1970’s and moving to Garber in 1978. He worked at Speed Star for several years. He later worked for Advance Food in the maintenance department, retiring in 2008.
He married Barbara “Bobbie Lee” Turner King on August 19, 1977.
He is survived by his step-son, Kelly King of Buford, GA, two step-daughters, Konnie King of Marysville, GA and Kristi Vowles of Marysville, GA; two step-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Duvall of Kentucky and Ray Kirkland of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Lee.
